Freeware Files Pages Update - December 2006
December 26th 2006 - Updated the free
firewalls page to add the Comodo firewall. This free
firewall is one of the most powerful available and could be a good addtion to your
free software security suite. Also added the free Ewido
anti spyware software to the freeware

December 23rd 2006 - Updated the
Anti Virus page. Updated software descriptions and added new sources of the
anti-virus freeware including the free
anti-virus offering from AOL. (Press CTRL and D to bookmark).

September 10th 2006 - Added some new Windows Games cheats to the
Windows Games Tips and Cheats. So, if you fancy winning at Freecell or Minesweeper for a change - check out the

August 8th 2006 - Updated / Added a guide to file extensions. A new
Work With Files page that explains the many suffix that are attached as extensions to files. Lists and explains the files you are most likely to encounter including compressed files - why not bookmark the page?
August 5th 2006 - Added / Updated a new safe surfing page to the site. If you need at any time to provide personal data online, whether on the web or via email then read the
Safe Surfing Tips page. Essential information, good practice and free software to protect your online identity (and your family's) - why not bookmark the page?
August 3rd 2006 - Added several new hints and tips for Windows XP to the hints and tips pages. Many of the historic tips for Windows 95 and Windows 98 that are already on the site will work in Windows XP so the hints and tips pages are worth checking out. (Scroll down on any page on the site for the hints and tips menu).
August 3rd 2006 - Added a new backup hints and tips page to the site. Although it sounds like preaching, you really MUST backup. The new

Freeware Files Pages Update - July 2006
July 20th 2006 - Added a freeware Windows file manager to the
File Managers freeware page. XYplorer (freeware version) offers tabbed multiple windows and lots of useful tools and features when working with files in Windows.
July 14th 2006 - Added a freeware Windows Clipboard Extension Utility to the
Productivity free software page. Ditto is an extension to the Windows Clipboard. You copy something to the Clipboard and Ditto takes what you copied and stores it in a database to retrieve at a later time. Free software.

June 29th 2006 - Added a free Yahoo! email downloader to the
Email freeware pages today (YPOPs). Useful if you want to use your
email client to download Yahoo!
email for reading offline. Also added Freepops which will download
email from Yahoo! Hotmail and many other popular online
email services.
June 1st 2006 - Added a free
anti-hijack and anti-spyware software to the
Anti-Spyware freeware pages today (Sandboxie). Highly recommended if you download and install a lot of freeware or shareware from the Internet. Sandboxie will give you a protected environment to try them out.

May 30th 2006 - Worked on updating some copy and descriptions for the freeware software featured on the free pages at Hsinlin, Freeware Files.
May 20th 2006 - Added a free windows file manager (xplorer) to the
File Managers freeware pages today. xplorer is totally free for private, non-commercial use and could be a useful software tool if you frequently open multiple folders when working with files and need a dual-pane file manager.

April 15th 2006 - Added two FREE and OPEN SOURCE
World Wide Web Browsers (K-Meleon and Maxthon) to the freeware pages today. If you are fed up with vulnerability and instability of the browser you are currently using or just want to see what else is quicker and more useable, check out the
free browsers page.
April 12th 2006 - Removed more free software that is no longer free (sigh).
April 9th 2006 - Just a tidy up of the freeware files pages. I've removed some software that is no longer free from the pages.

March 1st 2006 - Added Notepad++ Free Text Editor to
Text Editors freeware page which features the best free Windows Text Editors and Surce Code Editors Software. Notepad++ is a free source code editor which supports several programming languages running under the MS Windows environment.
March 1st 2006 - Updated the
Anonymous Surfing information page which features the best free Windows Anonymous Surfing Software plus links and information on anonymous sufing services and anonymous proxy servers. If you have any concerns at all about your online

February 14th 2006 - Added Paint.Net Free Photo Editing Software to
Graphics freeware page which features the best free Windows Graphics and Image Viewers Tools and Software. The Paint.Net Free Software is designed by under-graduates at Washington State University to be a direct replacement for Microsoft Windows Paint.
February 1st 2006 - Added some new resources, including an anonymous proxy link and anonymous remailer link to the
Anonymous Surfing freeware page which features the best free Windows and Online
Anonymous Surfing Tools and Software. I think I'll need to start an
anonymous surfing software page
AND a hints and tips page soon!

January 29th 2006 - Just some general maintenance to the free software pages today. Updated some links to have them point direct to the free software page for featured utilities.
January 23rd 2006 - Added a new Online Tools freeware page which features the best free Windows Online Tools. This page is useful if you have concerns about installing free software on your system - many top manufacturers of software offer a free online trial - there are free virus scanners and free graphics utilities here as well as other useful free online tools.
January 23rd 2006 - Updated the Anonymous Surfing freeware page which features the best free online proxies for Anonymous Surfing Software. I have added several anonymous proxies to the page.
January 22nd 2006 - Added BitDefender to the Anti Virus freeware page which features the best free Windows Anti Virus Software. The Anti-Virus page now has lots of excellent free Windows software, make sure you are protected FREE!
January 20th 2006 - Added Back it Up! to the Back Up freeware page which features the best free Windows Back Up Software. Just do it, you know you need to backup, don't you?
January 19th 2006 - Some maintenance on the free software today. Removed Tasktracker from the File Managers freeware page which features the best free Windows File Managers Software. Tasktracker is no longer freeware, as kindly pointed out by a user - thanks!
January 16th 2006 - Added ActivIcons Free and also Desktop Calendar XP to the Desktop freeware page which features the best free Windows Desktop Software. Activicons allows you to customize the Windows desktop icon and cursor attributes and also change mouse cursors. Desktop Calendar XP allows you to beautify the calendar on your Windows desktop.
January 15th 2006 - Added TextPad Freeware to the Text Editors freeware page which features the best free Windows Text Editors. TextPad is a powerful, general purpose editor for plain text files.
January 14th 2006 - Added the Speedguide Broadband and Dial-Up Connection Optimiser to the Internet freeware page which features the best free Windows Internet Software. Helps speed up your TCP settings.
January 12th 2006 - Added two secure, open source, file erasers to the Privacy freeware page which features the best free Windows Privacy Software.
January 11th 2006 - Added a new page to the free software pages, a Database freeware page which features the best free Windows Database Software. Still adding to this page but there are a couple of useful free database organisers there now.
